I LOVE this book. There, I've said it. This book is fantastic!
I have read all of the Mortal Instruments series, so I am already in love with the Shadowhunter world. This book only added to that love. I love that this series is set in England. It's nice to see the Shadowhunters in my country. The narrative from Tessa is great. It allows a magnificent incite into her brain as she copes with all the new surroundings, information and Shadowhunter way of life which is completely different from the Mundane world in the 19th century. I was so happy that Magnus played a more prominent role in this book as he is my favourite character from The Mortal Instruments series. But, my heart went out to Will once the truth about his past was revealed. The constant battle against Mortmain however is frustrating and creates a tonne of sympathy for the characters as the problems don't ever seem to end. Hopefully all will be resolved in the final book. Despite this, there were many unexpected events like the engagement of one couple (who I won't name due to spoilers) which was a lovely surprise. The arrival of a certain character at the end (the cliff-hanger) was shocking and left me wanting to read more. Luckily as I own the series I have been able to start the next book straight away.
